1 Year Down and Many More Adventures to Come

“Spears Strong is not just a personal training company. It’s not just a health and wellness program. It’s so much more. It’s about building a community.”
These words were true when I wrote them one year ago in our first Spears Strong blog post and they are true now as we celebrate the one year anniversary of Spears Strong. When Jonathan and I set out on this journey we had one main goal in mind: build a community and get that community healthy and strong.
As we look back over the past year we can’t help but feel proud and excited about the future of Spears Strong. From our growing adventures of Trail Running to Snowshoeing to Stand Up Paddle Boarding to adding Massage Therapist Sara Holden to the team, to opening our first ever Spears Strong facility, every step is heading in the right direction.
But the real joy comes from you. The real success is in your stories. Whether it be Stephen walking around his house like a cat, doing goblet squats and break dancers while doing chores, or Sean running his first Half Marathon or the Foley family dominating Spears Strong workouts or Karen rocking the Seattle to Portland bicycle ride, we are inspired every day by each and every one of our Spears Strongers.
Running a business is hard work and there are moments of stress but every story, every smile, every bit of excitement we see in our clients makes every moment worth it.
As we look at the past year in gratitude and achievement we look to the coming year with excitement and gumption. In the next month we will be opening our new Spears Strong facility at 3517 SE 2nd Ave., Camas. Renovations are moving along well and the space is starting to come together. Stay tuned for an exact opening date!
We plan to call this new space the “Lab,” short for Lifestyle Lab, because Spears Strong is more than a gym, a club or a “box.” It’s a place where we are constantly experimenting, constantly working on all aspects of life: from strength and mobility to relaxation and restoration to nutrition and mental health. And, of course, because getting you outside is another one of Spears Strong’s main missions, we’ll continue to have workouts at local parks in the summer and as weather permits.
This is just the beginning and we plan to have many, many more anniversaries to celebrate with you. As we open the Lab, we will be introducing specialty training camps, new adventures, new workouts, a massage room, some fun equipment and more.
We couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to open the doors of Spears Strong than Camas. Though Jonathan and I are transplants, this is our home now and our backyard is filled with mountains, rivers, trails and endless beauty. As we head into fall and the weather cools, a change is once again in the air and we cannot wait to see what this next year of Spears Strong brings.
Thank you for joining us on this adventure we call life.
