About the Volcano (and lots of interesting information about Mt. Tabor Park):

Another super fun Field Trip!! Come climb the 293 stairs to the top of an extinct volcano in Portland. Warmup starts promptly at 8:30 am. Go at your own pace and climb as many stairs as you want, or to the top as much as you want (listen to your body!) We’ll also cool-down together as a group. And while it’s self-guided and at your own pace we should all be able to cheer each other on as we go up and down the stairs.

Feel free to bring a plus one: spouse, friend, child. We suggest getting to the location early if you want to chat and catch up with fellow Spears Strongers. Jonathan and Shelby will be there at least 20 minutes before the warmup begins.

**Please No dogs during Spears Strong Field Trips, please. We love your furry friends but please leave them behind for Spears Strong Field Trips. We are warming up and cooling down as a group and not everyone is comfortable or stable around dogs. Instead leave your pooches at home for our once or twice a month events, an opportunity for you to use this as time for you to get out into nature without something or someone else pulling on your attention!

*Please practice social distancing and we suggest bringing a mask, just in case.Times during this pandemic are awkward for group gatherings and we feel that awkwardness too so we’ll be reaching out for your feedback in order to keep these Field Trips fun and safe for all!

Virtual Field Trips: If you don’t live in the Camas/Washougal area, if you’re not ready for in-person group events or if your schedule is busy on Field Trip Day, use the type of field trip and distance to do it on your own, and share your photos/videos with us! Use Mode Switch Boost for your Warm-Up and Mode Switch Decompress as your Cool-Down.

REGISTER FOR THE FIELD TRIP BELOW and coordinate with your fellow Spears Strongers. Virtual clients: find some stairs or a walking route near you and fill this out too! You can comment to give us a description of where you’re walking or hiking!
